Important Travel Information – Road Conditions

Please note that the roads leading to Ponta do Ouro and Kuusamo Holiday Resort are off-road terrain and not suitable for all vehicles. To ensure a safe and smooth journey, it is strongly recommended to travel in a 4×4 vehicle. Alternatively, a 2×4 vehicle equipped with a differential lock (diff lock) may be used by experienced drivers familiar with sandy or uneven roads.

The final stretch to the resort involves deep sand tracks, loose gravel, and uneven surfaces, particularly after rain. Standard vehicles without the proper traction control may struggle or become stuck. If you’re unsure whether your vehicle is suitable, we advise renting a 4×4 in South Africa or Mozambique before making the trip.
